Frustrated by the deterioration of the Park View Playing Fields and the general lack of facilities for youngsters within Lytham, a group of residents, in January 2004 formed the charity Park View 4U. With the aid of grants, fundraising and lots of hard work the park has developed into a truly amazing 3 generational facility which attracts visitors from all over Lancashire and is now used as a template for similar projects throughout the country.

The trustees of the charity now wish to build a community centre on the park which will provide a meeting place for the local community and a safe environment where young people can engage with the local agencies. The building will also incorporate a café and much needed toilet facilities and will provide a base from which the park can be managed. The trustees are delighted to be nominated as one of the beneficiaries of the St. George’s Day Festival as this will provide much needed funds to complete the project.
